Packing and Shipping FAQs
Q: How is my shipping cost determined?
A: Shipping costs are based on four factors -- weight, size, destination and speed. We're happy to provide a quote based on that information.
Q: What type of items do you pack and ship?
A: We pack and ship a wide range of items, ranging from antiques and artworks to electronics and appliances. Whether your item is small or large, light or heavy, our packaging experts do it all. We'll use the best packaging to protect your items. We'll suggest the carrier that can deliver your shipment on time and within your budget.
Q: Can I ship wine or liquor?
A: No. We are unable to ship alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and firearms.

Q: Do you guarantee your rates to be as low as the carriers' regular retail rates?
A: Of course. Just come in with an estimate provided by the shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx or DHL) and we will match or beat their direct rates. We have negotiated lower fees with all of the major carriers. Having these wholesale rates allows us to have a highly competitive retail rate. The only exception is the U.S. Postal Service, whose rates are not flexible. At Mail and More, however, you'll never stand in line for an hour, as you would at the local post office. Our convenience and superior customer service are well worth the small additional amount for USPS shipping.
Q: How will you package my items?
A: Size, fragility, insurable value and method of transportation are taken into consideration as we select the packaging materials to best protect your item. We work with a wide range of packaging materials and methods. We can make custom boxes to fit any item -- essential for providing both maximum protection and minimum dimensional weight.
Q: Can I pack my own boxes and items?
A: Of course. But be aware that if you pack your own items they are classified as "packed by owner," meaning you are eligible only for declared value coverage for disappearance. So if you are packing fragile items be sure to use plenty of bubble wraps, newsprint and/or peanuts to adequately protect the items.
Q: What is declared-value coverage -- and why do I need it?
A: Declared-value coverage allows us to protect your shipment from loss or damage. Packages handled by the carriers automatically are insured up to $100. Coverage is door-to-door. If damage occurs during transit, the item may be repaired or you will be reimbursed based on declared value. (Documents are not insurable.) For your convenience, we also offer declared value coverage via third-party insurance providers.
Q: Will you pick up my items for shipping?
A: We're happy to pick up large freight items. Just give us a call at (310) 470 6423 to make arrangements.
Q: Can I drop off my prepaid packages at your location?
A: You may leave UPS, FedEx and DHL packages that are prepaid and labeled for shipping at our store. No additional cost for this service.
Q: What is the last drop off time for UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS (US Post Office)?
A: The Pick up time for UPS is after 4:30p.m., Monday thru Friday. For FedEx is Mon-Fri after 4:45p.m. and Saturdays after 2:30p.m. For DHL it is Mon-Fri, after 4:00p.m. The mail and packages normally gets collected by the Post Office six days a week, once a day, sometimes in the afternoon.
